belmont house

Belmont House is Grade II listed property. It was originally an early 19th century country house on the outskirts of Falmouth and was later used as a boys school. With the expansion of Falmouth much of the original grounds have been developed for modern estates including Marlborough Court and Penmere Court.

Koha Architects were appointed to carry out a new extension and entrance to the property. Granite stone piers were proposed for the new entrance gates to reflect the original gate posts to the Belmont estate that are still visible on Chard Terrace.

Vertical diamond shaped slate cladding to the front fa├žade of the extension and metal gates arranged with a diamond grid pattern were chosen for to harmonise with the geometry of the existing window bars to the main house.
