soundwave b61

Koha Architects collaborated with Andrew Lewis and Nick Bulley to develop an idea in response to an open competition advertised by the BBC for a ‘Listening Pod’. This required a mobile, secure and private enclosure to invite members of the general public to discuss some of their past significant memories which would be recorded for posterity.

The requirements were for a sound-proof space that was easy to assemble and transport and would also need to contain recording equipment. Our design was based on a sound wave which would enclose the main recording space and provide external interactive displays as well as a children’s slide and seat.
