Old Cathedral School

In 2012 Koha Architects won a short-listed competition for the restoration and Change of Use of a Grade-Two listed former School House into a mixed use Arts, Music and Education Centre for Truro Cathedral Ltd.

The formation of a double-height exhibition and café space combined with the opening up of the South-West Archway has created a light and welcoming entry area, connecting the building with the Green and Cathedral itself. The project was completed early 2018 and has been widely acclaimed receiving a commendation in the Cornish Building Group Awards as well as a recent nomination for the LABC Awards 2020 for Best Change of use of an Existing Building and Best Public Service or Educational Building.

“Everything is running really well, and it is lovely to see all the people using the building . It has made an enormous impact within and outside of the Cathedral community. I have loved working with you.”

- Ellen McKessock, Director at Truro Cathedral
