White Styles House, Gorran Churchtown

White Stiles House is a 1950s home in Gorran Churchtown, situated within a Cornish Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and next to the Grade II* Listed St Goran Church. The site has be added to over time, with past extensions and alterations shaping its character. This latest proposal replaces a previous extension with a sympathetic new design, carefully respecting the home’s historic surroundings while improving functionality and aesthetics, taking features from the church as inspiration for the curved green oak porch.

The project focuses on enhancing space, accessibility, and visual harmony, with a reconfigured layout that better integrates with the existing home and landscape whilst providing framed views of the church from the re-modelled interior. Parking and outdoor areas have been altered to reduce impact on the setting, ensuring White Stiles House remains a sensitive yet contemporary addition to its historic location. The Project is due to be finished in March 2025.
